This is one of the main questions that we’re asked, and probably one of the most important too! Doing a good amount of preparation is key for interview. Our recruiters will always let you know where you need to be, and what do expect at an interview, but there is some preparation you can do too:
Our careers website is a great place to start preparing for an interview. You can get a great understanding of who we are, what we do and where we operate.
From our website you can get to know our values and our people, as well as getting insight into what you can expect from being a member of the Brink’s team, such as the support you can expect and any development and training opportunities.
Always understand the role you are applying to and think about how your own skills and experience apply. You may be asked for an example at interview about a time when you had e.g solved a problem. By reminding yourself of your own achievements, skills, experience and strengths, this really is a great piece of preparation.
You can be asked ‘why have you applied for the role?’- be clear on your motivations for applying, as this is sometimes the very first question our candidates are asked!
If you’re on social media, why not ‘follow’, ‘like’ or ‘join’ our channels to understand more about what we’re doing at Brink’s. Many of our own countries operate their own local social media channels- please look out for these.
Another top tip is to prepare a few questions to ask at your interview. Remember, this is also your chance to gain as much information as possible at interview to help you make an informed decision about whether the role is right for you too! We’re often asked a range of questions at this time- If this is important to you, please ask.
If you have been rejected from a role, you can apply again to another role at a later date. Always try to take into account of the set requirements for any of our vacancies and ensure that your CV and covering letter outlines this information. It is also good to take onboard any feedback provided to you based on the reasons for your earlier rejection.
Every member of our team undertakes a background check. If you are successful in the recruitment process, you will be invited to participate in the background check process,
This can involve gaining employer references, along with checking your identification and any other credentials required that may be essential for the role. Whatever the requirement, a member of our team will contact you to discuss this step and guide you through it.
Once you have completed your application, one of our recruiters will review and assess your CV against the requirements of the role. Any other documents that you have chosen to send e.g. a covering letter, will also be reviewed. Once this step is done, you will then be contacted by the recruiter and advised on the outcome of your application. You may receive an email or call.
If you are successful at this first step, you will be invited to attend an interview which can be done virtually, over the telephone, or in person at a Brink’s branch. The interview could be with the recruiter, and/or the hirer, but we will always make sure that you understand where you need to be and with whom, and what to expect.
Some roles may require a form of testing, but your recruiter will guide you and let you know what is involved. If you require any assistance to support you in any aspect of our recruitment process, please contact careers.ie@brinks.com
